I've been distracted by real life, and attempted to start a couple new neighborhoods for some possible new challenges. I ended up going back to Salem, though, and was inspired by the disgruntled look frozen on Dolly's face while Charlie proposed to her :) Perhaps she was hoping for a bigger rock?

No, I didn't go out and buy the game after saying I wouldn't :P I did play a little while visiting my friend, though. I made a sim named Odette - she was clumsy, artistic, hydrophobic, childish and a mooch. :P I wasn't really in the mood to play and I got bored with making her (too many choices!!! Good when you have a specific idea, not good when you're starting out).
In the end I didn't even bother picking the rest of her outfits. I handed the laptop back to my friend and we lazily slapped together a home. My friend's boyfriend and I suggested getting hit by a car and mooching off of strange men...unfortunately the first choice wasn't possible :P I actually feel really bad for Odette, she deserved better than a few tired gods not really in the mood to help lead her life! Pardon the graphics and lack of walls and ceilings :P

Thanks for all the birthday wishes :) The day really sucked, the test didn't go well, and though I enjoyed hanging out with my husband I've been in a funk all week. Sunday will have been a year since my mother died, and I'm just not over it, and I'm not dealing with it in the most productive way.
I did manage to play a little bit of sims, though. Here are some pictures of the McDunn and Bloom families (united through Fern and Billy's wedding!) I was a little lazy about fixing everyone's outfits, especially since I'm trying not to use a money cheat on the second generation. I'm also considering only allowing one child per family!

I baked this cake for my 25th birthday (3 years ago). I'm still proud of it ;) That was a good birthday. A couple friends came over, played some sims, listened to lots of Bowie and Prince, wore party hats. I don't normally celebrate much, but 25 felt special :) 28 feels...a little depressing. Like I'm supposed to grow up for real. But I won't ;)
It's supposed to be rainy and cold today, which I normally appreciate this time of year but today it feels like a dis :P Then I have an oral exam at noon. Lots of heavy sighs and sick nerves lately. I haven't been in the mood to play, and when I tried to I didn't have fun :( I'm not sure how prepared I am for this test, all I can think about is getting it over with.
I'm usually a cheery person, hopefully that'll return this afternoon. I can't tell if it's just the test or if I'm getting depressed in general. But my husband is bringing me to my favorite vegetarian buffet tonight, where I'll get my meal for free because we recently became "members". For now I just need to focus on my Swedish... |

Desktop Accessory by Around the Sims
I don't know why I'm making so many dorms, I don't even like playing uni!! I ended up getting a 24 hour hack so it'll go quicker...but here you go. Partly inspired from riding the bus around Stockholm, partly inspired by Mirror's Edge. My other dorms had an abundance of creativity building objects, but this one is more geared towards logic and body skills. It comes fully furnished and is zoned as residential, just type changeLotZoning dorm.

I got a request to upload these furnished, and I just so happened to have updated them recently for my personal use. I added more bathrooms (on each floor), and made a couple tiny changes. Some of the CC might be different, and there are objects from the Sims 2 Store included.
The Pure and Neutral Universities are zoned as dorms, while the Wicked University is still residential. I didn't make any changes to that (other than a new fence) because I decided not to use it in my game. I wasn't inspired to do anything new to it, but since it's residential it'll be easy to edit if you are inspired!

I cut my hair short again. I was nervous this time, because my hair was perfectly fine. It was rather beautiful, actually. Before it was always dyed or I needed to even bangs out or I plain and simple felt crappy. It always makes my husband nervous because of that last reason. I'd like to say it wasn't emotional this time, but it probably has something to do with my mother and my birthday.
The hairdresser didn't do it as extreme as I wanted - I showed her an old picture of myself where the back was shaved and the sides were shorter. She suggested making it "softer" though, and since my hubby wasn't too keen on the cut in the first place I thought that might be a good idea. I'm afraid she made it too soccer-mom looking, but I feel cute.
It has a sort of '90s confident French lady feel to it :P I feel like I should run around Paris in a babydoll dress and army boots, hah. She said I was brave, but I do this every four years and it never fazes me. I feel like myself! I'm going to donate my hair to something like Locks of Love.
I planned on uploading a self-sim in this post, but she came out stupid and I never play with those anyway :P

Loki wanted to go on vacation, and he decided to bring his three children - Lukas, Danica and Fenrir. All having different mothers, the three of them haven't really spent time together. So, this was a good way for the family to bond!

Pardon my wordiness in this post, I don't mind if you skip it and just browse the photos ;)
Marisol realized that the vampire life isn't suitable for children. Unfortunately, her son Lukas is already grown up (and doesn't seem to want to have anything to do with his vampire "family"). Her daughter Beatrice is already a teen, and like Lukas she spent most of her days parentless and nights full of drama. It seemed like all of the adults were either sleeping with each other or in a fight! Marisol wasn't made out for this type of life, so she decided to take a potion to bring her back to life. She always dreamed of reaching the top of the journalism career, and it seems like a great time to attempt that now that her children are growing and will soon give her grandchildren!!

I've been busy remodeling my neighborhood now that I have all the packs, but I did manage to play one vacation. Easter and Anders Bloom went to Twikkii Island. I didn't take too many pictures, because I was just trying to figure out how Bon Voyage works. They seemed to have fun, though, especially Easter!

Wee, my husband ordered the rest of the Sims 2 packs I didn't have for my birthday (Mansion & Garden Stuff, Kitchen & Bath stuff, and Bon Voyage!) The stuff packs should come in the mail next week, but we got the EP downloadable, so I should install it this afternoon. Feels silly now that Sims 3 is coming out, but I'm not getting that right away anyhow.
Then after my birthday we're going to Bergen, Norway to visit my best friend (whom I haven't seen since I got married at the end of 2007!) I really need all these good things to cheer me up, because I have a Swedish oral test on my birthday, and that week will have been a year since my mother died. Anyway, yay for my hubbster ;) |

I've been trying to get all of my teens to go on at least one date and get at least one scholarship (although I did get a little impatient with some). Valter was ready for college, but all of his thoughts were on dating, it being spring and all. I decided to let him go out with Callyanne, since they kinda knew each other after she brought him home from school one time when they were kids. :P It didn't really go well.
